Church-Wellesley (Toronto) is the gay community of Toronto, dubbed “The Village” by locals, with many other alternative names including “Gayborhood”, the “Gay Village”, and the “Gay Ghetto”, among others. The area has numerous bars, restaurants and stores serving the local gay community, and is home to the annual Gay Pride Parade celebrations - one of the largest in North America. Nightlife is also abundant in the area. Bars, clubs and music venues spill onto the street scene every night well into the morning until 4:00 a.m., and are always busy among other Toronto's nightlife communities.
