The York University Heights (North York) gets its name due to the fact that it contains the main campus of York University. The area is most popular with immigrants and the majority of people live in high-rise buildings. The area also includes the Village at York, one of the last major new-home developments within the City of Toronto including condominium townhouses, semi-detached and detached homes. Due to the proximity of this area to York University, the area is well served by public transit, except of course, the subway.
